Maintenance Log, 1992-2003

Based on existing receipts and owner statements on purchase.

8/11/92 – New Spectra mainsail with numbers, 2 stripes, long battens, and 2 reef points and with large roach made by Larsen Sails, Santa Cruz, CA (receipt; David Hodges, Santa Cruz Sails, who worked for Larsen, says it probably cost $4,000).
10/15/92 – Installed new Harken 560-6 tracks, cars, and car blocks. Work by Rigging Shop of Santa Cruz (receipt).

10/19/93 – Repair scratch in hull side, caulk cap-rail, buff hull. Work by Harbor Marine, Santa Cruz CA (receipt).

10/29/93 – Major service on engine including changing coolant, oil and filter, fuel filters, heat exchanger zincs, water pump impeller, transmission oil, alternator belt, hoses to water heater, and new anti-freeze. Work by Marine Engine, Santa Cruz, CA (receipt). 1797 hours on engine (based on notation by Marine Engine on receipt).

1994-1995 – Hull painted blue, mast and boom painted, Dacron Genoa made by Santa Cruz Sails for approximately $3,800 (August 1995, according to David Hodges, SC Sails), Harken traveler installed, bulk heads reinforced, interior refinished (teak, new headliner, upholstery), all deck fittings and cap-rail resealed, and installed Martec 3-blade feathering prop, new hatch covers, new side windows, new standing rigging and running rigging.

4/22/96 – Rebuild Perkins 4.108 engine, seal transmission, clean and detail. Work based on receipt. Est. 2560 hours on engine (based on average of 160 hours per year).

1996 – Thru-hull fittings cleaned and renewed, bottom epoxy sealed, Lewco heavy-duty battery charger installed with new A.C. wiring. Work reported by owners.

10/30/97 – Repair batten in mainsail. Work by Santa Cruz Sails (receipt).

1998 – Install Harken Mk II Roller Furling Jib system. Work reported by owners.

11/9/99-3/29/00 – Major haulout to clean bilges and gelcoat, detail hull sides, install sea strainer, install dripless packing gland and shaft, remove engine to install new transmission, remove and refurbish electrical panel and rewire D.C. and A.C. as needed. Work by Harbor Marine, Santa Cruz, CA (receipt). Est. 3200 hours on transmission.

Install Jensen stereo/CD player, freshly chromed mast winches, install KVH instruments, new HD8D 12v battery, apply Pettit Trinidad bottom paint, and refinish exterior teak. Work reported by owners. Engine Log shows 3891.58 hours on installation of KVH system.

4/12/01 – Repair corroded trace in KVH Quadro Instrument “brain box.” Work by KVH Industries.
